With a new year comes a new batch of the latest high tech beauty products claiming all to be miracle workers. However, few products are true mainstays and live on at the top of everyone’s favourite beauty products that actually work. Here is a list of the top ten products every woman should get to know, and we suggest you do.

1. Clarins Beauty Flash Balm  £27.50

This facial in a tube from Clarins is both  primer and  leave-on mask. It leaves your skin feeling velvety smooth, creating a smooth canvas for make-up. With its moisturising, brightening, and tightening properties it’s instant radiance in a bottle.

 2. YSL Touche Eclat  £24.50

InStyle Magazine’s ‘Best Beauty Buys 2011’ winner, this under-eye brightener and skin highlighter should never leave your purse. It’s the perfect on the go item for quick touch-ups to hide those under eye circles, adding instant luminosity and radiance. Once available only in three shades, YSL has added four more to their repertoire to accommodate any skin tones.

 3. La Mer The Concentrate 50ml £295

Should be nicknamed “Scar Be Gone”. This super potent product compliments the skin’s natural healing process and improves the appearance of scars. This revolutionary product is scientifically tested and specifically made for fragile post-trauma skin healing. All you have to do is massage it on twice a day, and… Hello, healthy luminous skin!

 4. Rosebud Salve £7

Started in 1895, Rosebud Salve has been used to help with dry skin, eczema, razor burns, taming frizzy hair and keeping chapped lips at bay. It comes in a cute vintage-style tin, smells like roses and helps with an array of beauty problems. One tin of Rosebud Salve can last a few months to a year, and adds a beautiful dewy sheen to lips and skin.

 5. Tweezerman Tweezers £22

No self respecting beauty guru will go out in the world with, dare I say it, a unibrow, and that’s where all the plucking, waxing, and threading come in. Some people say that all tweezers are the same, but have you ever tried using dull tweezers before? This is where you need a Tweezerman Tweezers, the cream of the crop when it comes to removing strays. With so many styles to choose from, slanted to gel-covered, to even limited editions by Prada, you are sure to find the right one to keep you unwanted hairs at bay. We also heard you can send your Tweezerman Tweezers back to the company for free sharpening.

6. Batiste Dry Shampoo £1.90

Hands down the best dry shampoo. It refreshes, soaks up greasy hair, and adds volume to all hair types in those times of need.  It comes in several scents such as Tropical, Blush and Fresh, and Batiste has just recently added specific hair colours to its list of dry shampoos. Another bonus is that it doesn’t contain any harmful chemicals like talc, so it’s sort of healthy.

7. Nars Blush in Orgasm £20.50

The name alone is enough to make us blush. Nars Orgasm blush is that perfect peachy pink colour that gives us a very healthy glow. With the slightest touch of gold flecks, it looks great on nearly every complexion. Great for use all year round.

 8. L’Oreal Paris Elnett Satin Hairspray £5.99

World-renowned Elnett Satin Hairspray gives hair that perfect hold, with enough flexibility for movement. “The flake-free spray holds even gravity-defying styles in place” says N.Y.C colourist Rita Hazan, who has worked with Jennifer Lopez. Almost foolproof, should you make a mistake simply brush out hair, and restyle.

9. Dior Diorshow Mascara £15.50

With so much competition out there, this ultra glam, ultra thickening and ultra lengthening mascara wins out above the rest. Made in three colours Black, Chestnut and Azure Blue to accentuate whatever look you are trying to convey.

 10. Benefit Eye Bright £14

Benefit Eye Bright is a miracle worker. This pink pencil brightens tired eyes for that young, wide-awake look. It helps conceal and brighten the shadows in the corners of your eyes while lifting the outer corners, making you look wide-awake and radiant. This does to your eyes what coffee does to you in the morning.
