Simple and stunning – MATH Collective

MATH Collective by the beautiful Shahzad Mohayudin is a simple and stunning silk collection. The label is focused around the combination of deconstructed silk with other luxury materials such as leather and suede, creating modern and uncomplicated textured jersey pieces.

The ways in which the garments have been designed means they have a chic and sophisticated feel to them. Produced in the UK, MATH portrays British grace, and being based in London is something that is proudly presented and prevails throughout all of the collections. If you love an oversized, draping silk tee like I do, MATH is perfect for you. Kimonos, halter necks and adorable playsuits all feature in the collection available online, illustrating a palette of pastels and navy for truly perfect and purposeful outfits. However, it is the use of material that makes this label really special. Each item is seems somewhat basic but you can’t help but feel excited by the delicacy and beauty of the garments.

Hosting the Autumn/Winter 2012 collection at Vauxhall Fashion Scout back in February for London Fashion Week, MATH presented an updated version of their current collection. The collection saw “bold modern urban dressing with a dash of sport luxe”, something that we have of course seen for summer this year. Bright and bold shades of orange were used but complimented by modern greys and blues in a whole host of layered jersey dresses. The collection also saw signature pieces from Natasha Wray, who created a differentiated approach to her design but still replicated her passion for the capital in her pieces.

Wearing a piece from MATH Collective is a statement in itself and we really do love that something so undemanding can be so powerful.
