Siwy is a denim brand established in New York back in 2005 by designer Michelle Siwy. Upon its launch, Siwy immediately developed a cult following amongst celebrities such as Nicole Richie and Rachel Bilson. Siwy Denim has also reached British shores on the trendy legs of Kate Moss and Sienna Miller.

Michelle Siwy designs four collections every year, which always include her own interpretation on classic denim tailoring. In her collection you will find – amongst others; shorts, bellbottom or flared, chinos and cropped styles. With her modern, innovative tailoring, the jeans seem to create an illusion of long, lean limbs. It’s no wonder that Siwy has become so popular. Whichever fit you choose, Siwy promises longevity and quality, the denim is developed using America’s best wash and are manufactured ethically at sewing facilities in California.

Every single garment made by Siwy is finished with handcrafted labels made from original vintage feed-sack cloth; this makes each pair of jeans unique.

Siwy is manufactured in the US and is available for purchase in Canada, Japan, Australia, and most European countries including – most importantly – the UK! The brand is currently stocked in reputable, luxury department stores such as Harvey Nichols and by a variety of online retailers. Or you can take a look at Siwy’s very own website.

Here are a couple of our personal favourites to wet your appetite:

Firstly, these beauties are the ‘Alexa‘ shorts. An interesting take on denim cut offs. With zips on the side and an aztec pattern these shorts would make you really stand out on a beach holiday or at a festival.

Perhaps not for the faint hearted, but definitely for this season; these are the ‘Hannah‘ jeans. In the ‘desert rose’ wash, these denims fit in perfectly with the gorgeous pretty pastel shades we have watched become so popular for this spring/summer. Ever so slightly cropped, these jeans would be brilliant teamed with sandals or stacked wedges.

If you’re feeling extra brave the ‘Hannah‘ jeans also come in ‘Pixie‘ that basically means hip-to-ankle sequins, making them massive showstoppers.

Siwy Denim don’t just make jeans to stand out, these are the ‘Theodora‘ drainpipe skinny jean. They are casual enough for every day wear but the ruched-side seams provide a slimming, lengthening effect.

Available from 23 to 32 inch waist sizes, with prices starting at around £70. Siwy Denim is definitely worth a look.
