It’s all about vegan shoes and ethical fashion at Bourgeois Boheme

It’s all about vegan shoes and ethical fashion at Bourgeois Boheme

My vegan friends have always found themselves in a catch-22 situation whenever it comes of quality fashion. If you are a vegan and have always returned empty handed after a shopping trip, then the brand Bourgeois Boheme is something you need to take a look at.

We like the camel Adele boots (sale price: £39), a casual knee-high boot in camel faux leather with a tan collar. The Abbacino Connie ivory bag (£68) also caught our attention. It’s a classic tote, perfect for running errands. It’s made of soft ivory faux leather with contrast chocolate base and a weave finish.

The brand firmly believes that ethics should not be traded for fashion, and style should not be sacrificed for conscience. Twickenham based entrepreneur Alicia Lai is the brainchild behind the brand. Lai started Bourgeois Boheme in 2005 after scouting the markets and not finding anything that went with her vegan living. Since its inception, they have made stylish accessories and shoes that will not put a big hole in your pocket. It’s no wonder that today they are considered as the leaders of affordable ethical fashion for both men and women.

Ethical sourcing is at the heart of their trademark; they not only use the finest faux leather and natural products but also collaborate with manufacturers who endorse ethical thinking. Their current collection consists of lovely ballet pumps, dressy footwear; boots that will make you walk more, besides eye-catching bags and belts. Our favourite is this leopard print Bobo Esther ballerina pump (sale price: £25).  It comes with leopard suedette with grosgrain trim and bow, padded quilted insole with soft microfibre lining and a resin sole and – or without – a small heel.
