With Every Cloud Has A Silver Lining, one man’s trash is definitely another man’s treasure

With Every Cloud Has A Silver Lining, one man’s trash is definitely another man’s treasure

If you see a piece of corroded copper piping or an old rusted bolt, the first thing we all do is throw it immediately in the dustbin. Well, go back and rummage through your litter as it is precious to someone.  The name to bear in mind in this case is Alessandra Rigillo. It is a name you will not be forgetting after reading this article.

Alessandra the brainchild behind Every Cloud Has A Silver Lining, takes items that people no longer require and recycles them into something else. It may be junk to you, but it is treasured by her.

It is not about the amount of time you put into the creation, or the amount of money you spend, it is all about the outcome. She uses items such as bottle tops, buttons, balls of paper mache, and bits of crochet flowers to make some stunning “junk” jewellery.

For instance, to Alessandra a pearl or gold chain has the same value as an old water pipe. And why shouldn’t it? This water pipe had a purpose, a meaning, a value once upon a time. Rescue this pipe and give it a new value, a new purpose.

This eco-friendly, eco-conscious artist only started experimenting with jewellery in mid-2009. Within such a short period of time her pieces were so highly reclaimed that she decided to market her line with the intention to inspire people to reuse, recycle, and break away from disposable consumerism.

Salvage what you have and look at it through Alessandra’s eyes. Everything around us has value. And the price of this item is not in pounds.
