Union Jewellery: it’s time to make a statement

Union Jewellery: it’s time to make a statement

Statement jewellery was BIG news on the designer catwalks for spring and summer 2012. It was all about HUGE bangles, OVERSIZED earrings and COLOSSAL necklaces. Adorned with everything from diamonds, jewels and even fruit, it was all about accentuating those special pieces and making them into real conversation starters.

So whether you fancy dabbling with the trend or totally embracing it, try logging onto Union jewellery, a luxury online store offering stunning collections of costume and bridal jewellery by some of the worlds most celebrated designers.

The collections featured online include dazzling signature pieces by Mawi, eye-catching design classics by Lara Bohinc, luxurious cuffs and accessories by abi-K and show-stopping high-fashion creations by Erickson Beamon. Look to the catwalks for inspiration where you will see the likes of Vivienne Westwood sporting solid oversized rings and Mark Fast rocking the new arm-ware trend.

Rummaging through Union Jewellery’s online jewellery box, what do we find? Mawi’s opulent collection includes show-stopping necklaces that drape around the neck resulting in a truly stunning effect. The designer behind the sub-brand says: “The likes of Alexa Chung has shown us how to style these lavish creations with classic jeans, a crisp white linen shirt and a tailored jacket. So we dispel the myth that you have to have an ‘event’ to wear a piece of Mawi – oh no, accessorise yourself with it and head out at the weekend for a stroll down your high street!” Don’t mind if we do! Available in gunmetal, silver and gold get your hands on one of these seriously cool statement pieces for the season ahead.

Similarly, Lara Bohinc’s design ethos fuses technology with feminine elegance. Her knowledge of industrial processes includes photo etching and laser cutting which aid her vision to help design show stopping classics. I particularly like the Lunar Eclipse necklace that epitomises style and takes influence straight from the catwalk!

Anabel Campbell draws inspiration for her bracelets and chokers from vibrant colours and prints found in world textiles and tribal costume. The Navajo collection combines the bold colour ways of Southern India with geometric patterns and traditional bead-weaving techniques of North America. With all of the pieces hand-made and woven on a loom in her studio, you are sure to get a truly unique and special piece. She say’s “More is more is my motto!” which is a fab mantra to have this season – take note!

Miquella launched their debut collection of original and exciting jewellery at London Fashion Week in February 2009. It was snapped up by Harrods and has gone from strength to strength, selling to customers ranging from a string of boutiques to prestigious department stores all over the world. With Cheryl Cole and Lucy Yeomans (Editor of Harper’s Bazaar) being huge fans, it would simply  be rude not to invest in Miquella’s style-savvy collection. Add the Twisted Knot Earrings to your style wish list! Update your spring wardrobe with a touch of elegance this season and let your jewellery do all of the talking!
