Crumple Design: hand-made recyclable paper jewellery

Crumple Design was born when eco-fashion consultant Elizabeth Laskar and artist Jezella Pigott decided to combine fashion and art to create eye-catching and eco-friendly earrings. Designed to have a minimal impact on the environment, the design duo source the best quality eco materials so that everything used can be recycled.

Elizabeth and Jezella have recently launched a line of paper earrings – their first venture since creating Crumple Design. The Paper Tales collection features a collection of quirky hand-made designs influenced by nature and which send a positive environmental message.

The designs, inspired by the simplicity and the collage of Japanese art and culture, are fun and wearable, and all hand-made in Oxford. The jewellery is made from responsibly-sourced paper without waterproof treatment, and are designed to be worn a limited number of times, then recycled. All paper is 100% recycled and materials are environmentally friendly, including the use of non-toxic, acid-free glues.

The timely and appropriate April earring design has been inspired by clouds and rain-water –just don’t get them wet! When they are no longer wearable, recycle or if recycling facilities aren’t available, everything can be posted back to Crumple.

I love the Pipperoo earrings, inspired by seeds that burst into colourful flowers.

If you’re looking to feed your jewelley fetish, Crumple Design is the way to go – seasonal guilt-free earrings, perfect for the summer months.
