We always get excited here at The Upcoming when we hear about a new fashion collaboration. Reclaim To Wear is the latest Topshop’s teamwork that has fast become number one in our wardrobe wish list.

Orsola de Castro and Filippo Ricci are the creative minds behind this enthralling venture. Introduced in 1997, the idea behind Reclaim To Wear was to use leftover fabrics from the fashion industry in order to create stunning new garments. With the fashion world being identified as one of the largest polluters, the duo decided there needed to be a connection between fashion design and recycling process. Creating Reclaim To Wear established a design solution for an environmental change.

The inspiration of working together came to life after both brands met at a Sri Lankan design festival where Topshop’s representatives were intrigued by the work that Reclaim To Wear created. From there, the two teams decided to get together to create a truly unique collection. Aided by the fact the teams were already working with a jersey factory, the creations for the collaboration were put together somewhat by accident. Not taking the usual design process allowed the teams to have a new creative flare and from it emerged new and exciting pieces. Mixing together fabric and colour alongside only being able to use what was available to them made an unusual take on garments.

Stating that they are “taking the best from the past and bringing it to the future”, this collection is a statement of respect to the environment. And we cannot wait to get our hands on it.

Keep checking Topshop online here to be the first to get your hands on the truly exclusive and recycled collection.
