The Brit brand is known for its unconventional and outlandish colour palette. Last season, Illamasqua’s Human Fundamentalism collection brought us lime-green nail varnish and teal lipstick – not exactly every day make-up!

But summertime calls for a more natural sun-kissed make-up look – enter the Naked Strangers collection. An unexpected choice for the brand, Illamasqua’s summer collection is a stunning array of neutral and nude toned products, all perfect to emphasise natural beauty and bring out the bronzed goddess in you.

According to Illamasqua, the collection is a “place where alter egos are laid bare and naked flesh is a source of unashamed inspiration”.Illamasqua’s Creative Director Alex Box told Vogue: “It’s very important that the whole spectrum of tastes and choices are available as each customer is unique. Naked Strangers is one beautiful nude spoke in our colour wheel.”

“Neutral doesn’t have to mean washed-out and boring”, he added. “I’ve always said, instead of a smoky eye and nude lip, why not try a smoky lip and nude eye? The glosses worn on the eyelid or as highlighter on the cheeks are amazing, especially over a tan.”

The collection consists of three nail varnishes: Monogamous, a pale flesh pink, Faithful, a deep shimmery bronze and Swinger, a glistening platinum gold; two lip-glosses: a sheer one in Intimacy and an intense version in Stranger; plus two blushers: a powder blush in Naked Rose and Zygomatic, a cream blush in a naked pink brown. The collection also features a neutral eyeshadow palette and liquid metal in Electrum, a rich antique gold coloured metallic cream that can be applied to eyes, face and body.
