Noemi Klein: creepy yet beautiful jewellery

Noemi Klein: creepy yet beautiful jewellery

Noemi Klein has fused craft and artisanal workmanship, plus her unique eye to create gorgeous pieces of jewellery, “objects of great subtlety but with a sincere pronouncement of desire.”

Born in the West German countryside, Noemi turned to jewellery-making in East London in the early 2000s. An outlet for her love of precious metals and unusual imagery, Noemi gives a great deal of attention to each piece.

Epoch 3 is her third collection and draws inspiration from the ephemeral imagery of life and death, nature and structure.

Here are some of my picks from Noemi Klein’s stunning body of work:

Spine Ring  (£95-£120)

This creepily beautiful ring has been cast from the spine of a mouse and is available in sterling silver and 22-carat gold plated.

Claw Chain Earrings (£105)

These sterling silver claw earrings with dangling chain add goth and glamour to a simple outfit.

Floral Branch Necklace (£190)

A simple, elegant necklace made from 22-carat gold plated sterling silver, featuring cubic zirconia and freshwater pearls.

Glacier Face Pendant (£130)

I glide towards unique pendants like a moth to a flame, so I love this hand-carved and cast  pendant of a jagged glacier edge.

Ribcage Ring (£215)

Ribcage ring with spine and bone detailing, available in sterling silver and gold plated.

In my opinion, Noemi’s work excels when it goes into a creepy gothic territory that most jewellery makers shy away from. Her combination of such unusual imagery in beautifully cast precious metals makes her stand out from the crowd and her pieces truly unique.
