Get fit with Cheerobics

Get fit with Cheerobics

At the time of year when most people are worrying about putting their bodies on display on beaches and in skimpy clothes, many desperately rush around trying to tone and buff themselves to get that beach bod.

Tipped as one of the hottest fitness trends for this summer, Cheerobics manages to combine fitness techniques with cheerleading moves to create an exercise programme that not only tones key areas, but is aerobic too.

Jessica Rossi, founder and creator of Cheerobics and cheerleading coach herself, developed the programme when she realised there was a gap in the market for fun cheerleading moves to be used by the masses to get fit. She thought that, although there were a few other classes that used cheerleading moves as part of a fitness regime, nobody had gone a step further and developed a syllabus.

Since its creation, Cheerobics has grown exponentially, offering classes up and down the country and abroad, led by the many instructors who have been trained through Jess’s instructor training programme. Many more are in training at the moment – with demand high, it seems like Cheerobics is the exercise to be doing right now.

It’s not just taught in classes: if there isn’t a class near you or you just simply don’t have the time to make it to one, the DVD experience, which comes with a set of pom poms, is a really fun way trying out the moves at home. A bonus CD is included in the pack which includes a documentary that Jessica made herself about the perception of cheerleading in the UK, in which she dispels misconceptions about the sport.

Managing to stand apart from other fitness regimes is hard to do, but somehow Cheerobics has been able to achieve that. With a recent spurt of television appearances showcasing the moves that Cheerobics has to offer to the public, it seems that there is no stopping the cheer train.

Burning up to an impressive 700 calories per session and open to anybody who wants to take part, it seems like – at last – you can begin a fun journey towards the amazing toned bodies of cheerleaders and enjoy yourself too. What more do you want from an exercise programme?
