Madonna’s brother Christopher Ciccone demonstrates his fetish for footwear

Madonna’s brother Christopher Ciccone demonstrates his fetish for footwear

The Olympic Games jumps into action this week, but forget sporty shoes. The Upcoming are looking forward to another launch, the beginning of Christopher Ciccone footwear collection sponsored by Novesta Solvak Republic shoe company.

We are going to be watching Madonna’s brother’s debut shoe collection very carefully indeed! Will it be as controversial as when he launched his best-selling book Life with My Sister Madonna? Will it follow in the successful footsteps of Madonna’s own Material Girl clothing collection?

September 2012 is shaping up to be a London Fashion Week to remember, as Ciccone takes a deviation from his well-known artwork and interior furniture designs with the launch of footwear for every type of person covering men, women and children. The range will also be shown in Paris, Prague, Toronto, New York, Miami and Los Angeles.

Ciccone stated that it will be a “mixture of traditional styles made using modern materials,” with a promise to combine leather, canvas and rubber. They will be “a welcome reprieve to the often unwearable designs of late,” and he claims that they are “not so different from designing a home, a stage, or a piece of furniture.” Here at The Upcoming we are loving the inspirational names that he will be calling the shoes – Eva, Brigette and Sofia – and can’t wait to have an Eva on our feet!

Ultimately Ciccone, at 51 years of age, plans to launch his own lifestyle brand with a store in every country and be a bigger brand than Madonna.  Watch out, as the first one is set to open in the winter.
