Victoria Beckham to launch own prescription glasses range

Victoria Beckham to launch own prescription glasses range

Victoria Beckham has set her sights on expanding her existing successful fashion career, by launching her own line of spectacles. VB, who is herself short-sighted, said she was inspired to create her own line, as she personally finds it difficult to find frames which suit her. Showing her humorous side, she commented: “It will be nice to see where I’m going for once”.

The prescription-based range is a result of a collaboration between Victoria and luxury eyewear label Cutler and Gross. The unisex range will be modelled by Victoria and will be made in Italy consisting of six styles. The highly anticipated collection will be unveiled in Paris on 4th October at the Silmo Paris exhibition. The tips of each frame will be branded with a diamanté “V” and will be handmade keeping with Cutler and Gross’s traditions.

The designs will include chunkier unisex shapes, metal-framed aviators and feminine styles in colours of black, tortoise, jewel tones, topaz, yellow and forest green. They will be stocked in Harrods in the UK in early 2013. The optical line will complement the designer’s existing sunglasses range, which was launched two years ago. With each pair retailing for around £260, we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled.
