Silver Factory: NARS to launch wearable art inspired by Andy Warhol

Earlier in the year, NARS announced a limited edition colour cosmetics collection inspired by Pop Art icon Andy Warhol for A/W 12 and now, we have some pictures of the products to drool over, before they launch this autumn.

The brand’s founder and Creative Director, François Nars, said: “I’ve always surrounded myself with Andy’s work and have paid tribute to him before. Even more than 20 years after his death, he continues to be one of the most influential figures in both contemporary art and pop culture.” He intended the collection to “evoke the cool, image-rich, character-laden world” of Andy Warhol and it certainly does!

The holiday collection, entitled Silver Factory, features vivid colours, collectible novelty packaging and product names drawing from Warhol’s rich body of work and legendary lifestyle — the Photo Booth collection (£26) consists of four mini nail polishes in shades named Soup Can, Chelsea Girls, Silver Factory and Back Room.

The collection features eyeshadows, lipsticks, eyeliners, blushers, brushes and polishes, as well as two make-up sets and a cosmetics bag. Highlights from the collection include the Warhol Self Portrait Eye Shadow Palettes (£39.50) and the Beautiful Darling Collection (£34.50), a set of a mini Candy Darling nail polish, Woman in Revolt Larger than Life Lip Gloss and Femme Fatale Duo Eyeshadow François Nars everything you need to create the bold make-up look from Warhol’s iconic portraits of Marilyn Monroe.

Available from 1st November at narscosmetics.co.uk
