It’s OK to be in love with Oktoberdee

It’s OK to be in love with Oktoberdee

Oktoberdee is an exciting up and coming label with a range of handbags and accessories to satisfy any man or woman. The Australian brand can simply be described as earthy. Designer Lauren Perry has done an incredible job at making this a successful and thriving business since it began in 2005. She has a love for shape, design and natural form that has been un-wavered and is paralleled throughout.

The newest addition to the range is the Arizona collection that is definitely the most distinctive with its milk chocolate rustic tones and earthy ambiance. The collaborations with illustrators and graphic designers have been the key element, allowing each of them to draw from their strengths’ and pasts’ in order to create these Italian leather beauties.

What is amazing about Oktoberdee is that with each collection it is so clear the stages the label has gone through and its progression. This can definitely be seen in the collection Whimsy. This collection marked a business change as well as a design one. In 2006 they changed their production and flavour. Instead of being made at home in Melbourne it was out-sourced which was also when they started using Italian leather and got more fun and innovative. Quality is apparent as well as numerous styles to suit whatever their customer is looking for.

What allows this label to create fun and unique pieces is the handmade collection. This is where Lauren can get her hands back into the element of design working directly with the fabrics and textures. This range is ever expanding as the experiences grow, taking vintage pieces with them as the key inspiration.
