Milly J’s Shoes: A creative eye-opener
Recently we had the pleasure to attend the opening night of Liverpool Fashion Week. It was proven to everybody in attendance that it is not about pyjamas, hair rollers and fake tan but instead exclusivity, uniqueness and creativity
Particularly catching interest and evoking conversation was the Milly J’s shoes stall, literally described as “art to wear” and rightfully so.
Milly was seen dotting all over at the Leo where the opening of LPFW took place; the designer was very busy with celebrity demand and sparking conversation amongst people within the fashion industry. We headed over to the elaborately decorated table full of artistic magical looking shoes for a closer look.
One of our favourites had to be the NYC taxi shoe named The Time of Our Lives (I love New York). The most unusual shoe we have ever seen but totally wearable and the story behind it is beautiful. The shoe was designed for a client whose brother had passed away; she had fond memories of New York with him. Thanks to Milly, this shoe is not just something you put on your feet but a piece of art that reminds the owner of classic memories.
It takes great courage and creative talent to be able to design shoes that are not for the sole purpose of walking to work, dancing on a night out or dining at a restaurant. Milly J shoes have been designed for the purpose of the client, to give that person whatever they want in the form of a shoe. This is a difficult position to find yourself in, but Milly seems to have some sort of psychic ability to completely understand the individual needs of each of her clients
Now time is ticking and we must get thinking of a shoe design for Milly because the price range is so affordable it makes us want to cry with happiness.
