Triangles everywhere at Ulalá

The triangle is such a simple shape, but it can be extremely effective when used for decorative purposes. At Ulalá, triangles play a big part in the collections.

Blanca Fernandez is the creative genius behind the label. She originates from Madrid but now lives in London. Ulalá itself is all about original and colourful accessories such as rings, purses, necklaces, etc. that give a colourful touch to an urban and simple style.

The collection consists of many tote bags with a number of colour variations on the pattern. The tote bags have leather handles and leather triangles attached to a canvas bag. They are perfect for students as they’re really roomy for notebooks and folders. The blue version is fab as it is such a vibrant shade of blue.

If you prefer a crossbody bag, Blanca has catered for you as well. The crossbody bags have the same triangle pattern as the tote bags, as well as the same colour options. The red version is great for autumn with its rich colour.

So if the whole collection is about triangles, then, that must be the inspiration behind the collection, right? Well, actually no, there’s more to it than that.

“I like building an inspiring theme or story. From there I look for materials and colours and start working on the product. It’s not easy to explain where this inspiration comes, but probably my travels and the cities where I’ve lived have always influenced me. As you can see, I like mixing materials and using bright colours in my accessories.”

A lesson to us all: don’t take things at face value, as Blanca has proven that even the simple triangle can mean greater things.

If you like your bags without much detail, Ulalá’s bags are for you. Head to the website to get your hands on one of them here.
