Free People has been a trusted clothes brand in America for decades and, finally, it is available to us Brits who are after something a little different in our wardrobes. The label’s clothes, jewellery and accessories echo images of femininity, courage and spirit from the boho 70s, when it originated. This allows the brand to play with shapes like flares and wide sleeves, styles such as dip-dying and tie-dye and materials including corduroy and velvet.

If you’re looking for the perfect party dress, the online dress shop includes trend-lead pieces but with a quirky edge. The Gatsby trend is reworked with a Navajo edge; mixing up layered bronze tassels with a beaded neckline and matte-sequin detail, whilst leather is used in a pretty way: adorning a black tulle dress with leather flower detail. The mini-shop also includes a limited edition range by five designers of five dresses, each hand-crafted and specially designed for Free People. This includes a floor-sweeping gown, a crocheted body-con style and a beautiful dip-dyed layered maxi.

2

Free People aren’t so fashion focused that they’re restricted by set trends. They instead use the idea of a customer and design for her. All pieces in the Free People range are aimed at a woman in her mid 20s who is smart, creative and confident whilst catering for her various moods.

Whether it is feeling free and adventurous, tough tomboy or sweet and romantic, you can build your own unique look with a variety of pieces. An endless combination of colour, pattern and texture can be found in knits, skirts, dresses and trousers.
