The ultimate spa experience: K West Hotel & Spa

Just west of the city in Shepherd’s Bush, we have found a place where the tranquil and calm can be discovered. The K West Hotel & Spa, hidden amongst the hustle and bustle of the Westfield Centre, is the perfect setting for you to take time out for yourself and relax. Its unlikely location is the ultimate hideaway spot and an ideal place for you to lose yourself in a little piece of heaven.

Taking the modernism of its surroundings, the hotel itself is modern and chic. The entrance to the large glass-like building reveals with it a reception area and the K Bar, which by day presents a social, eating area and by night transforms into a classy, unique bar area with a DJ. With welcoming staff awaiting you upon every corridor of the building, you are made to feel at ease and somehow at home, whilst in the hotel.

The rooms complement everything that the hotel is about. Huge spacious areas are dedicated to the guests’ staying experience, even with the smallest rooms allocating space to a more personal, lounging zone. They are designed with magnificent detail and precision, allowing them to be simple yet impressive in comparison to competitors. With the addition of sofas and a coffee table, the standard hotel bedroom experience has been transformed into a “from home to home” luxury.

The first floor reveals the truly luxurious K Spa. Complete with hydrotherapy Jacuzzi pool, sauna, sanarium and steam room, the spa is a flawless way of letting yourself go for the day. It also boasts London’s first ever Snow Paradise, a room which allows you to experience -15 degree temperatures. Developed by German spa specialists Klaffs, the room replicates a similar surrounding to a snowdrift and is designed to incorporate both hot and cold therapy. Proven to be beneficial to the immune system, it really is a one-of-a-kind experience that adds to the exceptional quality you will find in the spa.

When offered the opportunity to experience a spa treatment, we were given in-depth, knowledgeable advice on each of the treatments they have to offer. With a wide variety of treatments for the face, body or a combination of the two, we really were spoilt for choice.  After sampling the types of products that would be used, we chose the Banïya De-Stress Massage and we knew we were in for a treat.

Given time to prepare for the massage allowed a comforting and reassuring atmosphere to be created, ensuring that we felt completely at ease with the process. A wonderful fragrance of lavender filled the air, reinforcing the use of fantastic Russie Blanche products throughout the massage.

The treatment, which lasted 55 minutes, included a full body exfoliating massage, followed by a shower to remove the scrub product and finished with a further massage with oils. After the massage, we were invited to use the relaxation room, especially created for the latter stages of the treatment. The dark, subtly lit room included individual beds and access to headphones playing relaxing music, as well as fruit and iced tea.

The spa also features its own Vanity K Nail Bar as well as other finishing touches, such as waxing and threading.

With 1st December rapidly approaching, K West has put together an array of gift experiences that are perfect for extra special Christmas gifts. With prices starting from £50 for a K Spa Mani-Kure, which includes a hand and arm massage, to £529 for a Suite Dreams Spa Break for two, you are sure to put a smile on someone’s face on Christmas day. The spa has even specifically catered to treat men this festive season, with a two-hour Blokes Eksclusive, priced at £145. The treatment includes a hot stone massage, pedicure, lunch and full access to the Wet Spa.

The excellence and quality that K West has to offer is overwhelming, and it should be the only place you visit for a truly breathtaking spa experience.
