Jamie Laing launches the Candy Kittens Christmas pop-up store on Carnaby Street in festive style
Think of Christmas sprinkled with a little bit of Chelsea glamour and then you have Candy Kittens down to a tee. Last night saw the launch party of Made in Chelsea star Jamie Laing’s very own pop-up sweet store in Kingly court, just off Carnaby Street, in central London. We were invited along to discover what it was all about.
After launching his brand earlier this year in the South West of the capital, Jamie had made a start to making his career dreams come true. After taking a year out in America and finding himself in a sweet shop one day, he knew exactly what he wanted to do. Being driven on the idea of wanting to be a successful businessman, Jamie wanted to create a shop based around candy but add to it his own unique twist. The result is a fun filled, confectionary experience that simply puts a smile on your face.
The entrance to the packed out store on Wednesday evening was lined with a pink carpet, and DJ sets from the likes of Bip Ling and Jesse Burgress hit you as soon as you walked through the door. Plain white canvas walls had been tastefully decorated with splashes of bold candy-like shades of colour, but cleverly done through the use of Christmas décor. Reindeer heads and mini wellington boots filled with colourful baubles decorated a makeshift fire-place, and tables filled with Christmas cupcakes and Candy Kittens winter merchandise filled the area with festive fun.
A quirky bar at the back of the store served Thunder Toffee Vodka on the rocks and despite a lack of glasses for guests to drink from, the yummy choice of spirit eventually added to the festivities of the evening.
The store offers a whole array of Candy Kittens products from Christmas wrapping paper to iPhone cases and woolly hats featuring the signature brand logo. Underwear and t-shirts with printed slogans such as “Yea Boi” and “Pardy” as well as ski hoodies and pyjama bottoms are also available to buy and would make perfect presents for the ultimate MIC fan.
On exit, guests were treated to their very own Candy Kittens goodie bag filled with a hat and an advent calendar among other quirky gifts, that rounded off a magical, merry evening.
This pop up shop is brilliant for finding a stocking filler for a friend or family member this Christmas, so make sure you pay Candy Kittens a visit in time for 25th December.
