Fragrance is a popular choice any time of the year, and there are just so many to choose from. Here at The Upcoming, we have narrowed it down to our top ten female and our top ten male picks.

One of the most popular female fragrances this year has been Paco Rabanne’s Lady Million. Packaged in a stunning gold diamond design, this bottle was based on the design of the Regent Diamond on display in the Louvre museum.

Another favourite is the offering from Elie Saab. The eau de parfum is floral and woody with a note of jasmine absolute –  the ultimate elegant scent.

With tears of belladonna and tiger orchid, the first ever-black liquid perfume hit our stores this year coming from Lady Gaga. The bottle itself has been co-designed with Nick Knight, the claw representing her “Little Monsters” and the egg being inspired by her 2011 Grammys performance – a quirky yet firm favourite.

Prada’s Candy eau de parfum has notes of benzoin, caramel and vanilla scented honey, so would be the perfect choice for those with a sweet tooth or with a nose for sweet vanilla scents. It also has a beautiful art deco inspired bottle.

Two other popular scents this year have been Hugo Boss’s Boss Orange, which is a beautiful, warm fragrance and Juicy Couture’s Viva La Juicy offers a fruity, yet musky scent.

With one of the most interesting bottles yet, Diesel’s Loverdose can be stood in three different positions, and has a black dagger running through the middle of the bottle. This fragrance is woody, oriental and has a liquorice heart.

Guerlain’s La Petite Robe Noire has to be one of the most luxurious offerings. The bottle screams glamour and sophistication, and the scent is smokey, with black cherry and rose. Perfect for evening wear, this perfume would look fantastic on any dressing table.

A sweet offering from Taylor Swift, Wonderstruck is fruity and floral and is very feminine. The bottle to this scent is very girly, adorned with its very own charm bracelet.

Last but not least, another firm favourite is Ghost Deep Night. The iconic moon-shaped bottle holds an oriental scent with notes of Indian rose, orange and vanilla.
