Stella McCartney awarded OBE

Stella McCartney awarded OBE

This summer, one woman had to dress a team of over 500 and design the sportswear worn by Great Britain for the London 2012 games. British fashion designer Stella McCartney has rounded up her incredible year by being awarded an OBE.

Her services to fashion mean she will stand alongside Bradley Wiggins, Mo Farah and Jessica Ennis, who have also been named in the 2013 New Year Honours List. McCartney, whose designs have been worn by the likes of Cameron Diaz and Anne Hathaway, will add the newest award to her growing collection, which also includes Best Designer of the Year and Green Designer of the Year.

However, alongside her Olympic enterprise, Stella also opened a store in New York, launched her floral LILY perfume and declared she would finance a scholarship for MA Fashion students at Central Saint Martins College. We all have to agree, she’s a hard-working woman.
