The Willow bag: star of Mulberry’s S/S 13 campaign

Mulberry’s latest collection of bags is a compilation of stunning design features and intricate devices to give you an array of style. The collection has been designed by Mulberry’s creative director Emma Hill, who has entrusted the job of photographing the campaign (starring Meghan Collison) to British photographer Tim Walker.

The real talk of the campaign is Mulberry’s Willow collection. Despite it being completely gorgeous, it’s two bags for the price of one, as the front section of the tote zips away and becomes a clutch in its own right.  The inspiration apparently comes from the Transformer toys while keeping the classic Mulberry look. “It has been updated with a clutch on the front so it feels right for now. Everyone likes something that you can take off or add on,” said Emma Hill.

The oversized bags/clutches come in an array of colours and textures, from mint to biscuit brown and the collection is named after Mulberry’s second factory in Somerset, said to be opening in June this year.  Kate Moss was the first to debut the beautifully versatile tote not even 24 hours after the Mulberry show, opting for the black crocodile skin version. Alexa Chung and Lana Del Rey have also taken to the Willow, and could be seen at the runway show.
