Leitmotiv wants us to join them in printed Urban Pastures For F/W 13

If you didn’t know already, Leitmotiv was created for the man who “prefers streetwear to look original and casual, men who are (intent on) being an optimist, passionate, keen on life and the real world”.

It seems that the designers were looking to this time around define the “real world” in its most basic form, drawing on the great outdoors and all that encompasses it. Apparently, the “Leitmotiv man loves to lose himself in nature and gets fascinated by the romantic allure of the bush”.

Leitmotiv 1

Bird watching, anyone?

There are similarities, however, between the men of the raw, untamed wilderness, and men of the wild, unruly urban jungle.

Hunters and purveyors of the great outdoors want to be well prepared for the fall weather, and our more modern men desire the same.  Still, men of modernity want to not only be considered the height of functionality, but also the epitome of style.  For the man of today, style trumps all.

Leitmotiv 2

Leitmotiv offers these urban jungle gents the best of both worlds with its new fall/winter collection. Patterned tops, graphic knit sweaters, pops of colour and peeps of design in the pants, and even a cargo ensemble that is more about the black detailing than anything else.

Basically everything we women love, but on a man.

Leitmotiv 3

Very rarely have we seen a collection that allows itself to be so bold and creative with men’s fashion, that is willing to take a leap and risk a few head turns and “are they crazy?!” whispers. Yes, perhaps they are, but in our book, insanity is often a pre-cursor to genius. It is those qualities – the willingness to leap and take risks – that is often the best description we can think of and offer to others when speaking about the urban man. He knows what he wants, does whatever he has to do to get it, and wants to look good while doing it.

Leitmotiv 4

The designers of Leitmotiv had a specific goal to make the most casual and informal of items unique. Like the men they are designing for, they want their collection to be visionary, different, and daring. We’re going to enjoy seeing this collection made available for the public and seeing exactly how these urban men we’re championing put together the eclectic pieces of the Leitmotiv puzzle. Layering is very much in, and so many of the pieces were specifically created to be worn together to create a seamless, but very “out-there”, outfit.
