Tuesday afternoon at the BFC Courtyard show space inside Somerset House saw the likes of Kate Nash, Mollie King from The Saturdays and other familiar faces take their seats on the front row for the Ashish A/W 2013 collection.

Titled Working Girl, the collection was the perfect ensemble of “workwear” turned fashionable. Huge luminous yellow and orange reflective strip jackets were key, making you think nothing less than a building site. “No more cocktails and canapés but builder’s tea and bacon doorstoppers” doesn’t put it any better. Huge back combed coloured hair built in every aspect of a workers life. Traffic cones and double yellow lines became wearable and totally fantastic in every single way.  Sequins made up the plain overalls and one model even displayed clasps and buckles on heavy-duty making Ashish’s collection all about the daily grind.

Backless aprons were draped over models bodies and put together with reconstructed jeans and patchwork denim dresses. There were also oversized boho style capes and an ‘I’m having a shit day thanks’ sequin tee which put a smile on everyone’s faces.

There was still an added touch of magic to the collection, with silver hologram sequins glistening in overalls and dresses.

This was definitely one of Ashish’s most inspiration to date.
