Fast becoming one to watch, Baartmans and Siegel is a luxury menswear brand based in good old London. Created by design duo Wouter Baartmans and Amber Siegel, the Dutch/English pair creates innovative collections together. Having both graduated in 2010 from the London College of Fashion, you could say the pair is a match made in heaven to create such a stylish and contemporary menswear brand. 1

Their pieces consist of unusual textures and incredibly sharp tailoring, which stretches outside of the box and delves into an almost signature look for the brand. Their current collection for spring/summer 2013, titled Cuban Crab Catchers, is their most interesting and dynamic. 4

“We wanted the SS13 collection to feel romantic, effortless and take you on a journey,” Siegel said of the new collection, which was inspired by the culture and history in Cuba. The use of grey and blue hues are apparent throughout the collection, which ranges from suits to Aztec-inspired t-shirts and silver shorts. Having stayed on trend with the nude palette, the designers were able to play around with designs and put their own twist on the trend. The entire collection has a very nostalgic, holiday vibe, like an exotic landscape you’ve seen in a film. We particularly liked the use of incorporating shine and lace into a menswear collection – a very bold move that paid off. 2

The style is relaxed yet retro, and should inspire men to push the boundaries of their style, whilst wearing these somewhat eccentric, 80s-inspired pieces.
