Sophia Webster is a young passionate British shoe designer who creates stunning heels for us ladies. Sophia studied at the Royal College of Art and Cordwainers and she pursued a career in design.

She has worked as a design assistant for Nicholas Kirkwood since graduating in 2010. This is where she learnt all the basics in design and would be required of her as a full time designer.  All her hard work had paid off so she started to design shoes for women under her own name.

Sophia has a specific design process that influences her designs.  Music is something that really helps her to get in the mode of focusing and designing her collection.  To get in the mood of designing she listens to an eclectic mix of reggae, RnB and neo soul.

This S/S’13 marks Sophia’s first collection, and her exciting journey starts. Her signature design is single soles, feminine lines and strong silhouettes. Her designs will instantly catch your attention.  Her collection is the representation of playfulness and modern contemporary designs.  Funky materials, whimsical motifs and embellishments are used on her shoes and her styles include kitten heels, platforms, flats and stilettos.

You will notice the beautiful hues that are used which include vibrant colours like pink, blue and yellow. These colours are perfect for a woman who doesn’t really take herself seriously and loves to experiment and try out new things to wear and who expresses herself through her shoes, exactly what Sophia was aiming for.

The designer has had expressed interests from retailers like Bergdorf Goodman and Saks Fifth Avenue who stock her shoes. Sophia has already been named Emerging Footwear Designer of the Year by Condé Nast Footwear and there’s more to come from this talented young designer in the near future.
