Anarchy and chaos by Mayadu Khammu’s Young Blood label at The Wellington Club

Anarchy and chaos by Mayadu Khammu’s Young Blood label at The Wellington Club

Mayadu Khammu’s young label could not be more aptly named as Young Blood. At just three months old and already making noise in the music scene, several of her leather pieces have been worn by none other than current pop superstar, Rita Ora.

While her bespoke line, which consists of leather and rabbit fur pieces, might be out of reach for most, the B-Line collection is much more attainable. The graphic tees and beanies tell the tale of fallen leaders, Brooklyn street of the 1980s and the Arab spring. If all this puts your head in a tailspin, the collection is concise in articulating it all perfectly with its straight-to-the-point pieces.

Young Blood

For the second time since the original launch a few months ago, the label took over The Wellington Club in Knightsbridge. Unlike the previous takeover, this time the designer was out to celebrate the spirit of her new label by having both a pop-up shop and a party to show off its brand of anarchy for the night. The Upcoming was there to witness the spirit of King’s Road punks revived in this not-so-polished corner of upscale Knightsbridge.

The crowd was made up of friends in tweed and Young Blood fans in white leather and seriously stacked boots, all ready to see in the next morning on the dance floor. If this year’s Met Ball theme has stirred up the need to create chaos, the advice from us is to check out this label while it’s still under the radar.
