Madonna strives against gun violence for label Defend Paris

Madonna strives against gun violence for label Defend Paris

Madonna is rumoured to be one of the new high-profile designers that have teamed up with the old-school streetwear label Defend Paris. The speculation started when Madonna posted a short fashion film of herself, shot by Steven Klein, with the caption “#secretproject”. The pop singer was one of the first to go public with a hoodie from the French label that supports human rights.

Defend Paris is a recently launched clothing label that has a collection of hoodies, tank tops, shirts and hats on sale in its online store. The items have reasonable prices, between £20 and £50, and all the money goes to a good cause chosen by the designer of the item. The choice of Madonna to team up with this label in particular isn’t the biggest surprise, as the main designer of Defend Paris is her boyfriend Brahim Zaibat.

Back in May, Madonna was first spotted with a black hoodie from Defend Paris. The media was quick to cover photos of her in the controversial hoodie, as it featured a big machine gun. Now it’s clear that it was just another political statement from the pop singer. The money that will be raised by her hoodie for Defend Paris will go to a cause that prevents gun violence.

Although it’s just a few months ago that Defend Paris started off, the brand is already seen on public figures like Rihanna, Steve Aioki and Zachary Quinto. Whether they will be part of the Defend Paris designer team is yet to be revealed, but we expect many more secret projects to come from this label that kicked their project off with the world’s leading lady in pop.
