Cleo Rocos: “Come and grab life by the cocktails and let’s make some happy trouble”
We all know the feeling. The morning after a night out that saw you having one too many cocktails, and, before you know it, shots of tequila are being taken with a pinch of salt and a wedge of lime. It’s all good fun until you wake up the next morning feeling “like your head’s in a small shoe” as Cleo Rocos puts it.
Creator of award winning AquaRiva Tequila and TV star, Cleo Rocos, has taken it upon herself to teach us The Power of Positive Drinking, in her book of the same name and by launching National Positive Drinking Month from 13th September to 11th October 2013. As Rocos expains, “Drinking gets a bad rap but it should be celebrated. After all, great songs have been written, beautiful romances have blossomed and life-long friendships have all been forged over a drink. I just want to ensure we’re doing it properly.”
There are plenty of people out there telling us how to eat right but no one realises that the same rules should be applied to drinking. Rocos invites the nation to learn how to have fun the healthy way with sugar-free, low-calorie and chemical-free reinventions of traditional cocktails made by top UK mixologists. Rocos dares drinkers to spend one night sipping on the “madeover” recipes and feel the difference for themselves in the morning. “Once you do, you never go back”, she claims.
