The little white boots: rebel from rebellion

The little white boots: rebel from rebellion

Wearing little black boots used to be enough to satisfy the rebel inside of all of us, but as the trend got more and more popular, and the boots got easier and easier to find, there is now an array of cut-outs, buckles, studs and pretty much anything else to try and stick out from the crowd. However, by going back to basics and going white, you can shine out from the crowd more than ever. Never has the saying “less is more” been more apt.

The ironic twist of white normally being associated with pure and angelic features, make these boots even more noticeable, and when paired with skinny jeans, a midi skirt, a mini dress, high-waisted boyfriend jeans, tailored trousers (the list goes on) you can bring civilised grunge to any occasion.

Firstly there are these delicate-as-a-flower, but with as much attitude as Cara Delevingne, boots from Senso. Despite the chunky heel they behold, their make-up denies any allowance of a chunky appearance, with a delicate strap lining the top of the shoe, a black strip lining the toe, and the small but effective cut-out on both sides. Senso might have just fulfilled all of our white boot rebellion dreams.

Second up from New Look are these boot-beauties. With a small heel to wear comfortably day-to-day, but high enough to fit in your rebellious urges, these boots tick all the right boxes. With one simple silver buckle, and a small cut-out, they are subtle enough not to tear away from their sheer white beauty. You did good, New Look.

Finally, we have a less delicate, but all the same beautiful boot from River Island. With the visible grip rubber lining on the sole of the shoe, and a sturdy undisrupted finish with all but one small buckle, these boots go in more of the grunge direction; but all the same, would make any outfit instantaneously more interesting.

With hundreds of options out there, these white boots have so much more to offer, so why not go your own way? And who knows, you might start a white boot revolution!

Senso boots originally £150 but on sale for £105, New Look for £27.99 and River Island for £65.
