Debenhams celebrates 200 years with limited edition collection

It might come as a bit of a surprise to some, but Debenhams has been a firm fixture on the high street for 200 years now, and the store plans to celebrate this landmark achievement with an exclusive limited edition collection from their iconic Designers at Debenhams range.

Debenhams currently boasts 240 stores that are spread across 28 countries, and initially came up with the concept of a designer collaboration. The brand now benefits from being able to call upon the services of 32 internationally loved designers, and is set to celebrate 21 years of the collaborations next year.

The limited edition collection includes a selection of stunning coats, show-stopping dresses and beautiful leather accessories that allow every customer to own a little slice of fashion history. The collection is due to launch this month, but dedicated fashion lovers will have to shop like a fashion editor, and apply to the waiting list if they want to get ahead of the crowds!

Key pieces of the collection include a gold sequin dress from Julien Macdonald, a nude leather coat from Betty Jackson and a red ball gown from Jenny Packham. If you’re looking to spruce up your home a little, then the collection also offers a selection of decorative plates and mugs from brands such as Ben de Lisi and Butterfly by Matthew Williamson.

The brand has also recently introduced three new designers into its range, which means that we can expect next year’s anniversary of the collection to be even bigger and better than this one. And, whether it was originally planned to coincide with the big anniversary or not, fans of Debenhams can also look forward to the multi-million pound relaunch of the flagship Oxford Street store later this year.

If you’re planning to pre-order then it’s probably best not to wait around for too long because – take it from us – this collection is going to fly off the shelves!

The 200-year limited edition collection is due to go on sale this month in selected stores nationwide and online here.

Prices for the collection range from £12.50 to £299. To pre-order and get your name on the waiting list, email: 200yearcollection@debenhams.com.
