Uncommon Nonsense: Handmade clothes for every body shape

Uncommon Nonsense: Handmade clothes for every body shape

Battling through an eating disorder, epilepsy and even strokes at the tender age of 24, Gemma McKeating, the designer behind Uncommon Nonsense, may have already experienced more pain than many of us will in a lifetime. But it hasn’t stopped her from creating her own range of beautiful dresses.

Midnight Dreams 1Creating handmade bespoke whimsical dresses, each garment is lovingly created with every fibre of Gemma’s willpower, with the aim of creating collections that can make any woman – regardless of size, disability or looks – feel and look beautiful.

Midnight Dreams 2The debut autumn/winter collection is inspired by her grandmother’s Russian wedding, which sees the use of faux fur collars adorned onto intricate made-to-order dresses in a series of eye-catching materials.

The Mushroom Of Course 3Focusing on animal prints, the dresses come in a variety of fabrics, including bunnies and toadstools, as well as the A/W favourite print of tartan. Evening looks are available in midnight velvet materials, while made-to-measure clothes can be created free of charge to those who may need extra alterations due to their size, body shape or disability.

White Rabbit White Rabbit White Rabbit 3From £50, the dresses don’t only offer a bespoke online service to women without them even having to leave the house, but also don’t leave a dent in their wallet too!
