Introducing the new generation of supermodels

Introducing the new generation of supermodels

We all remember the original supermodels: Naomi Campbell, Claudia Schiffer, Cindy Crawford, Tyra Banks and Kate Moss. Who after being the most highly paid, most heavily in demand and gaining the biggest reputation and franchise in the business, established a league of their own. As the decades moved on and fashion changed yet again, we welcomed another new supermodel to the wolf pack, Gisele, who is still today the highest paid supermodel in the world. As the dominate group in modelling and fashion, these women created the “I don’t get out of bed for less than $10,000 a day” attitude, thus rightfully earning them the title: supermodel.

In 2014, there are new models on the rise. They’re taking over from the previous generation of models and may even become fashion’s newest breed of supermodels. Here we take a look at the young, fresh new faces, making a big impact in the industry. We introduce to you fashion’s rising stars.

Cara Delevingne

Fashion-favourite silly girl Cara has definitely got the face but it is her unique, goofy attitude that has everyone falling in love with her. The onesie lover had an amazing year in 2013 and has already walked in thousands of shows; everything from Chanel and Victoria’s Secret to Topshop and Burberry. She’s not just a model either. She acts, sings and plays the drums, earning the nickname “super girl” from her friends. While she started off 2014 on the cover of British Vogue (her second ever cover), we can only wait in excitement to see what she does next. This girl definitely has an amazing career ahead of her.

Chanel Iman

We love this girl for obvious reasons. For one, her name sounds exactly like our favourite French handbag, but it’s her beauty that we can’t forget. With her smooth skin, it’s understandable why fashion, and even music, love her as well. Having rumoured to be romantically linked to both rappers Drake and Asap Rocky, Chanel has had the whole world talking on numerous occasions. And as her career continues to grow, we know there’s more to come.

Georgia May Jagger

You know her last name, you know her parents but now everybody knows her. The fashion world is falling head over heels for this girl, with her relaxed look and refined nature. Having inherited her modelling talents from her mother Jerry Hall, and effortless cool style from her father, Mick Jagger, this 21-year-old stunner is making a big impact in fashion and was one of Rimmel London’s famous cover faces. With her sultry lips and effortless sex appeal, we already know that this girl was born to be in fashion magazines.

Karlie Kloss

She first caught our eye in Teen Vogue nearly four years ago, and has impressed us since. As another Victoria’s Secret angel, Karlie has a fresh unique beauty. And at the age of 21, she has already graced the cover of numerous international Vogue magazines. With a style and grace like Karlie’s we can certainly see more Vogue covers and photo shoots in her future.

These stunning women are destined for global domination. As these gorgeous ladies pound the catwalk and turn heads, we regular people can watch in awe, because they’re taking over and doing it in the most fashionable way too.
