Kimonos are back, and they are bigger than ever. Perfect for festival season or for a cover up for sitting in the beer garden with a fruity cider, kimonos are the answer to every girl’s summer problems. So what better time to give you our top ten favourite picks of kimonos that the high street and online stores have available at the moment?kimono 1

Fringe kimono, from Topshop, £48

First up we have this beautiful navy fringed kimono from Topshop, which features a delicate floral pattern on sheer material. Complete with hem fringing, this is perfect to team with a trilby and denim hot pants.kimono 2

Short kimono, from H&M, £14.99

Next, we’ve found you an absolute bargain. H&M is full of beautiful summery garments at the moment and this short kimono is no exception. Featuring a beautiful oriental style floral print, it is great to wear with skinny jeans and a plain tee to give a more dressed up look.kimono 3

Paisley print kimono, from Matalan, £12

Kimonos are often associated with poolside wear, but that is now a thing of the past. We think this Paisley print kimono from Matalan is multi-purpose, so you can wear over the top of a bikini in the day and mix it up with a maxi dress at night. It definitely will not hurt your bank balance either! Kimono 4

Freya lace kimono in cream, from Missguided, £21.99

This kimono has to be one of our favourites. Made from a beautiful, delicate cream lace, it gives a cute look for summer. Being such a great colour also means that this kimono can be worn with anything and still make you look great. We advise a crop top and a denim pair of dungarees, finished off with some tan sandals for a brilliant look.kimono 5

Black pointelle knit longline kimono, from New Look, £19.99

If patterns aren’t your thing and you want something simple and sophisticated, this pick from New Look is just for you. Wear with some denim and a pair of Chelsea boots to wear on a day trip around London. kimono 6

Love kimono in large floral, from ASOS, £38

This kimono by Love is absolutely beautiful. We love the big, white florals and it would look great with a swing dress or a plain jumpsuit. Complete with ¾ length sleeves, it will keep you cool too! kimono 7

ASOS kimono in peacock print, from ASOS, £38

If it’s bright and bashful you are after, then ASOS have created the ultimate kimono for you. This peacock print kimono is the definition of summer and will allow you to stand out from the crowd. Keep your under clothes simple to ensure your kimono does all the talking.kimono 8

Band of Gypsies long kimono jacket in camo tie dye print, from ASOS, £38

Here at The Upcoming, we love Band of Gypsies and this kimono from their collection is exactly why we adore them. All that is left to say is bring out your hippy side this summer.kimono 9

Floral kimono, from Topshop, £48

We think this has to be our favourite out of all our top picks. No matter the occasion, this kimono is guaranteed to make you look simply stunning. Complete with side splits, it is perfect to save for evening wear and allow you to wow the crowds.kimono 10

Motel kimono jacket in monochrome symmetry, from Motel, £45

Last but not least, we could not leave out this amazing monochrome kimono by Motel. Sophisticated and sassy, it is the perfect kimono to create a day or evening look. Wear with a bright lipstick to make you stand out from the crowd.
