Top summer skincare tips

Top summer skincare tips

Now that it’s summer we all want that natural glow, the one that looks healthy and other women envy. Every year we say that next summer we’ll prepare weeks in advance with smoothie diets and facial massages, but realistically that’s not going to happen. So here are some of the best tips we can offer.

Make-up

Now you should always remove your make-up before you go to sleep, that’s a given, but instead of wearing thick foundation throughout the summer, wear light tinted moisturiser. You can skip your actual moisturiser if you want to avoid clogged pores, and also it gives a dewy finish.

Water

Drink loads of it. The stuff is great for you, it detoxes your body and as a result you get brighter looking skin. A great method of knowing you’re getting enough is actually by marking times of water bottles so you know how much you should be drinking by the hour. If you want more? Then great!

Sun cream

I know we all want a tan, and some of us have to fake it (coming onto that), but it is so important that your skin is protected from the sun, a temporary tan can actually cause a lifetime of (sometimes serious) damage. A factor 50 is always needed, even if you don’t burn, the UV and UVA rays can still do harm.

Fake tan

If you’re anything like us, you like to get a tan, however not all of us are blessed with natural tanning skin, aka we burn. You don’t have to walk through life pale though, try Rodial Brazilian Light Tan, it’s light formula gives a golden glow without being streaky, yes it’s pricey at £35 but it’s oh so worth it.

Bronzer

Your summer make-up shouldn’t be too heavy, however a good bronzer can never go amiss, it defines your cheekbones and results in a sophisticated beachy look. However don’t go overboard and also make sure you blend it, if your tan isn’t streaky then your make-up shouldn’t be either.

We hope that these top tips help you out for when your skin needs to be flaunting itself at its best.
