Prior to the switching on their highly-anticipated Christmas lights this Sunday 15th, Regent Street will be holding a fun-filled afternoon with celebrity guests and live entertainment.

For those that want to make a day of it, Regent Street will become traffic-free from midday, providing the perfect opportunity for Christmas shopping, alongside a variety of street performances for all the family to enjoy.

Then, from 6pm, the event will be taken over by Classical FM presenters Myleene Klass and Aled Jones, with festive performances by Laura Wright and Alison Balsom, performing live with the Philharmonia Orchestra.

Ballet superstar and Strictly Come Dancing judge, Darcey Bussell, will be turning on the lights, designed by Belgium-based ACT Lighting Design, at 6.30pm. Entitled Timeless Elegance, the display will feature video animations and projections for the first time in its history, alongside dazzling elements, creating a truly impressive spectacle.

Darcey Bussell said: “I am honoured to be invited to switch on the world famous Regent Street Lights. It promises to be a spectacular evening as we celebrate the start of Christmas in London. A time to get together and to think of others.”

The event is sponsored by Jo Malone, who has recently launched a flagship store at number 101.
