Tanya Taylor spring/summer 2017 collection presentation for NYFW
The new Tanya Taylor collection was complete with linen, denim, florals and colours. She even used the floral patterns to form silhouettes of people on the front of her pieces. The embroidered flower would form a dress for the silhouette as the vines formed the arms and legs. It was not uncommon for linen to be paired with a sheer blouse, a linen tank over a flowered blouse, or a linen skirt with leaf imprints.
The multi-layered denim skirts and bell-bottom jeans also went quite nicely with the linen and flowered blouses, but a stand-out piece was a thick knee-length shirt, over the jeans. The shirt was made of many appliques combined together and resembled a mosaic portrait.
Other ensembles included a long-sleeved top hanging off the shoulders covered in multicoloured flowers as it was casually tucked in a multi-layered skirt, also covered in countless flowers, though of a different pattern. Some sleeves were a lean skinny fit while others flared out.
A beautiful white coat stood out among the rest of the colour schemes that the other models wore. The coat had diamond shapes all around it formed by strips of white fur. Aside from the florals, Tanya Taylor used smaller patterns for a less dramatic attraction, including a top with pink, peach and white block patterns. There was also a vertically-striped dress of white, blue, maroon, peach, tan, yellow and blue. The stripes were of various sizes and gathered into a ruffle from the hip to the ground.
Just about every outfit was completed with casual slide-ons of two contrasting colours, usually one light and one dark. This new Tanya Taylor collection is full of life, colours and comfort, making it a perfect addition to anyone’s next summer wardrobe..
