Patti Cake$: Interviews with Geremy Jasper, Danielle Macdonald and cast

Mix the cinematic ingenuity of Guy Ritchie with the musical direction of Edgar Wright and what have you got? A little bit of Geremy Jasper. Traditionally a music video director, Jasper has been known to dabble in the world of cinema, short movies specifically, but now the creative from New Jersey has leapt into the world of feature length projects, and Patti Cake$ is the end product. We had a chat with him and his film’s star – Danielle Macdonald – to find out how the project came about and how they worked together on Jasper’s debut feature.

We also spoke with Siddharth Dhananjay who was unexpectedly cast while he was studying business and philosophy at the university.

Supporting actresses Bridget Everett and Cathy Moriarty (of Raging Bull fame) – the mother and grandmother of Patti, respectively – told us about the moment they decided to join Geremy Jasper’s project.
