19.04 spring/summer 2018 collection presentation for LFW
The 19.04 presentation was playful from the offset with a dinner table dressed with a number of sweet treats –including cakes – that was meant to reiterate the sweet elements incorporated through the garments that are inspired by fictional and nonfictional icons including Marie Antoinette.
Classic feminine apparel has been reimagined and given an innovative twist. Polka dots featured in the form of a sequinned velvet jumper beneath a purple satin bow pinafore dress, a black and white skirt and also a dress with ruffled shoulders that was worn over a teal velvet bell sleeve jumper, tying in a classic fashion element but giving it a new individualist twist. Bow elements featured throughout on bags, the previously mentioned pinafore dress and the belts of both a velvet dress and trousers given the whole line an innocent feminine demeanour.
Floral adornments, upbeat music and candle sticks were used as decoration and helped summarise and reiterate the feminine, creative approach to wardrobe staples. The brand, which was established in 2017, has created a line that boasts style and substance. A mesh dress with large bow detailing at the neck, worn only over a pair of underwear, was the most striking piece as it featured sequinned ornamentation that shimmered in the light, and was offset with pink jewelled shoes.
A playfulness element was seen in the form of a ruffle pink velvet dress, pink satin gown bags and a ringer t-shirt paired with pink ruffle waist tailored trousers, bringing a casual fashionable twist to a traditional tailored item. All were paired with flushed pink cheeks to reiterate the youth and playful quality of the brand’s identity.
The ready-to-wear pieces are intended to be bold and independent and are handmade by clothing constructors in Russia and aims to reinterpret classic pieces and materials such as velvet to create a new fun, feminine and imaginative aesthetic.
