While your head might be firmly planted in thoughts of mulled wine and a tub of Celebrations, 2018 is fast approaching us and with it the fashion trends it brings. Although pyjamas, a warm fire and your nearest and dearest arguing is very appealing around Christmas, nothing is most exciting than a new season – especially when there is shopping involved.

To help you get in the mood, we’ve selected what we anticipate will be three of 2018’s biggest trends from the catwalk, so you can get your thinking (and spending) hat on.

Plastic fantastic

At first, the thought of wearing clothing constructed of plastic might seem like a trend for the maximalist, a craze only worn by the most OTT of women, but give it a chance. Seen at Chanel, Burberry and Isabel Marant, the combination of classic items made up of plastic gives your outfit a little something something. Do not forget all the perks which makes plastic so popular outside of fashion, durable and waterproof, a coat created from plastic will not let you down on your Monday morning commute.

Perfect pastels

While your winter wardrobe might be filled with shades similar to those reminiscent of the English weather, the pastel pinks, greens, purples and blues that promise to be popular in 2018 making injecting some vibrancy a little bit easier. Although pastels are nothing new, add a twist by stacking up the shades. Victoria Beckham, Giambattista Valli and Alexander McQueen selected their favoured pastels hues in varying shapes and styles establishing the versatility of this movement.

Different denim

Now denim isn’t a trend, it’s a love affair. Denim will forever be in our hearts, but that doesn’t mean that sometimes it doesn’t need an update. In 2017, it was all about the vintage washes, however, next year dark denim is having a moment. Dress yourself in retro shapes from bell-bottoms to shifts for an update like seen at Fendi and Chloe.
