The Jury Experience marks World Theatre Day with interactive courtroom shows across the UK
World Theatre Day returns on 27th March, and immersive production The Jury Experience is marking the occasion with upcoming performances in London, Birmingham and Manchester.
Created by Fever, the live show places audiences at the centre of a fictional courtroom trial. Rather than observing from the sidelines, attendees act as the jury, voting in real time on which evidence is admissible, how testimonies are received and, ultimately, what verdict is delivered. The outcome shifts depending on the audience’s decisions, meaning no two performances are identical.
Established in 1961 by the International Theatre Institute, World Theatre Day celebrates the enduring role of theatre as a communal art form. The Jury Experience builds on that tradition while introducing a participatory structure designed to spark debate long after the curtain falls. Each case presents a moral dilemma, encouraging audiences to weigh conflicting narratives and confront questions of responsibility, bias and justice.
“We created The Jury Experience to invite people into complex moral dilemmas they might never face in their everyday lives,” said Isabella Szpigiel, Global Head of the production at Fever. “Theatre allows us to step into other realities and challenge our assumptions. By expanding interactive theatre, we’re helping drive the art form in a more immediate and collaborative direction.”
Several storylines will tour the UK in March and April, including Death on the Port Side, Diamonds, Lies, and a Dead Man and Death by AI: Who Pays the Price? London performances take place at the Shaw Theatre on 27th and 28th March, with additional dates on 3rd April. Birmingham shows are scheduled at the Bramall Music Building on 26th and 29th March, while Manchester dates follow at the Royal Northern College of Music on 2nd April.
