The Cheese Club: A luxurious dairy banquet delivered straight to your door

The Cheese Club: A luxurious dairy banquet delivered straight to your door

Home-X was created during the lockdown of 2020 by Nico restaurants with the aim of delivering food, drink and lifestyle experiences straight to your door.

As part of these experiences, they’ve introduced The Cheese Club – a tip top dairy selection that has been sourced from far and wide. Paired with a collection of chutneys, crackers and wine, this incredible kit offers a new treasure trove of cheeses every month. Each box is recommended for two people; all you need to do is select your preferred delivery date.

We were lucky enough to try the April edition, which arrived in a beautifully branded package complete with seven cheeses (that’s approximately 1kg of cheese), three jars of chutney, crackers and a bottle of Moscato d’Asti Palazzina 2015.

Let’s start with the cheese. We had the Sheep Rustler, a semi hard variety with a wonderful nutty flavour. There was the Ayrshire Dunlop, which was mild and soft and similar to a cheddar, and Rachel, a semi-firm goat’s cheese with a sweet and fragrant flavour. We also tried the Sparkenhoe Red Leicester, a moist, mellow and nutty mouthful, as well as Keen’s Cheddar, a traditional farmhouse cheddar with tangy and fruity flavours. The Blue Cheshire, a creamy, crumbly blue-veined cheese, was a clear highlight, as was The Elrick Log, a soft and smooth goat’s cheese.

These were accompanied by a selection of crackers and three delicious chutneys: piccalilli; gooseberry and caramelised onion jam; and the standout jar, quince and apple chutney. There was also a handy QR code which you could scan to watch masterclasses and download guidelines on everything you need to know about your box, as well as tasty cheese-based recipes to try out with your leftovers.

The Cheese Club gets a big thumbs up from us and whether you’re a self-confessed cheese addict or looking to try something new, this impressive box has it all. It’s perfect for grazing on throughout the evening and means you can try a variety of luxurious cheeses that you wouldn’t otherwise have easy access to. It’s also perfect for sharing – for example, if you’re hosting a party or entertaining over the coming months.
