Sustainable staple summer pieces to invest in

Now that we’re enjoying some good weather and the height of summer is weeks away, we’re turning our attention to these gorgeous staple pieces that will see us through the season in style.

What’s more, as we grow ever more mindful about the way our shopping habits affect the planet, we want to invest in clothing items that not only make us look good, but also aren’t negatively affecting our earth. You with us? These must-have summer items all come from sustainable brands and will remain in your closet for many years to come…

Hemp frill sleeve culotte jumpsuit, £89.95, Thought

Don’t get us wrong, we love pretty white dresses in warm weather. That said, this beautiful and versatile jumpsuit might just be our go-to for all things picnic, brunch, and beach stroll related this summer!

Denim skirt, £65, People Tree

Just as we all need the perfect pair of jeans in autumn and winter, we also need the perfect denim skirt in summer. Ideal for styling with bodysuits or cute tees on hot days, the “Catrina” denim skirt, is an item you’ll reach for on repeat all season long. Not to mention when slightly chillier weather creeps in, you can wear it with tights, boots and sweaters just as easily.

Puffed sleeve dress, £140, Ilk and Ernie

We’re going to go ahead and assume that neither square necklines nor black and white gingham prints will be going out of fashion anytime soon! Therefore, we highly recommend investing in this stunning puff sleeve printed dress immediately. We love how this ethically made organic cotton midi can be easily styled up or down.

The Earth tee, £46, Christy Dawn

We’d honestly struggle to live without white tees in winter as much as we would in the summertime! That said, making sure you have at least one that fits beautifully is important during these sunshine months as you won’t be layering (covering) it up. So, choose the stunning, ethically made Earth tee by Christy Dawn and tuck it into everything from skirts to shorts. You can even wear it under strappy dresses.

Mini dress, £40, Tamga Designs

If you ask us, everyone needs a relaxed fit LBD in summer. The most flattering yet comfortable one we’ve found so far (that’s also a carbon-neutral design) is this “Allegra” mini from Tamga Designs. Throw it on with flat sandals or sneakers and look instantly chic no matter your plans.
