Six of the best restaurants offering weekly live music events in London

Dining out has never felt like more of a treat after the past year, but we can do you one better than a meal at one of London’s thriving restaurants: a meal at a thriving restaurant with live music. While concerts and gigs have been hard to come by, the capital is home to a series of venues that can ease you back in by inviting you to sit down with delicious food whilst listening to some of the country’s best singers and instrumentalists. We’ve made a list of the best music and food events across the city that will have you covered all week long.

Sunday Dinner Jazz at Twist Connubio

Connubio means the blending of two or more different things in Italian, and Twist Connubio achieves the perfect blend by combining Italian and Spanish sharing-style food in one incredible restaurant. On top of enjoying unique, high-end food and wine from chef Gonzalo Luzarraga and sommelier Fabio Aguzzi, guests can now book for Sunday night jazz sessions in the charming basement, where a series of different bands will create a smooth backing track for the evening. The series starts this Sunday at 7pm, but as there are only seven tables the team recommend booking in advance here.

Shoreditch got Soul on Fridays at The Blues Kitchen

The Blues Kitchen is probably one of the best-known music venues in London, with branches in Brixton, Camden and Shoreditch. We recommend popping down to the latter on a Friday, when the house band (and guests) fill the venue with classic funk, soul and rock ‘n’ roll tunes, from Aretha Franklin to Fleetwood Mac and the Rolling Stones. Enjoy after a hearty meal of American BBQ and New Orleans soul food, or simply take a seat at the bar where you can sip on a cocktail or one of over 80 types of bourbon. Book a spot here

Music Mondays at Quaglino’s

Quaglino’s is more than a sleek upmarket restaurant in St James’s: it also plays host to an exciting roster of live musicians. As well as being known for its glamourous design and a contemporary European menu specialising in seasonal seafood, the venue has earnt a reputation for the quality of its entertainment. Head down on Music Mondays, when you can dine from the weekday menu (£38 for three courses and bubbles) in the company of some of London’s most talented acts.  Book a table here

Noches de Bossa on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at Amazónico

Amazónico in Mayfair combines tropical and Latin American cuisines, creating dishes inspired not only by the Amazon region but the multicultural people who inhabit them. Its husband-and-wife founders, renowned restauranteurs Sandro Silva and Marta Seco, are just as passionate about the music, and that’s why they offer an immersive experience courtesy of live DJs and house bands. Tuesday and Wednesday are Noches de Bossa, which means a serving of Jazz, bossa-nova and elec-tropical beats. Book a table here.

Gin & Jazz Thursdays at Avenue

Avenue is another St James’s joint well worth a visit, with a fresh seasonal menu curated by head chef Rudi Warner. On top of the refined food and classy atmosphere, Avenue hosts weekly jazz and blues events, the highlight for us being the Gin & Jazz night on Thursday, when you can listen to smooth jazz whilst exploring intriguing bottles from the gin emporium, run in collaboration with Cambridge Distillery. Bottomless Brunch to the Beat on Saturdays at The Piano Works

For food and music lovers, on Saturdays The Piano Works offer the best of both worlds: live music and bottomless drinks. Indulge in two hours of bottomless prosecco, beers, bellinis, St Germain Spritz or Mojitos – along with two dishes from the brunch menu – as you listen to the band. Guests can choose from two venues in Farringdon and the West End (both with a gluten-free menu available), and even better, there is the option to request songs as you eat. Book a table here
