Mrs Harris Goes to Paris: On the red carpet with Lesley Manville, Lucas Bravo, Jason Isaacs and Anthony Fabian

Set in 1950s London, Mrs Harris Goes to Paris is a beautiful screen adaptation of Paul Gallico’s novel brought to life using the stunning backdrops of Paris and London.

The story unfolds around a widowed cleaning lady called Ada, who upon discovering her employer’s gorgeous Dior dress, sets her sights on owning one just like it herself one day. Lady luck hands her an unclaimed widow’s pension that comes in at just over £500, and in a flurry of excitement, she boards a plane to Paris and heads to the House of Dior with a bundle of cash and no idea of the privileged world she’s entering.

The Upcoming had the pleasure of talking to the cast and director on the red carpet at the film’s premiere at Curzon Mayfair. Lesley Manville spoke to us about her role as Ada, coming in on the project as executive producer and what she felt was at the very heart of this story.

We spoke to Jason Isaacs about his role in the feature and what messages he thinks the film gives audiences.

Director Anthony Fabian told us why he chose to adapt the novel written by Paul Gallico and how he created the aesthetic palate of Paris and London.

Lambert Wilson told us about what he brings to the feature and what it was like working with Manville and such a fantastic ensemble cast.

Rose Williams talked about working with the cast, her favourite moment on set as well as the beautiful Dior dresses that stole the limelight of the feature.
