“Filming the first one, we didn’t know we’d get a second!”: Cora Kirk and Asa Butterfield on Your Christmas or Mine 2

“Filming the first one, we didn’t know we’d get a second!”: Cora Kirk and Asa Butterfield on Your Christmas or Mine 2

After the success of the first festive film, we return to see where the haphazard story of a young couple called Haley (Cora Kirk) and Hubert (Asa Butterfield) takes us a year later in Your Christmas Or Mine 2 when they try and navigate two polar opposite family Christmas traditions.

Taking to the slopes in Austria for a ski holiday in the Alps en masse, things don’t seem to go to plan when the two families end up accidentally swapping their bookings. With Hayley’s family having no option but to opt for the more budget accommodation, their mistake sees them arrive at the plush five-star resort that Hubert’s wealthier family have booked. This means that his contingent end up in the less luxurious surrounds of a shack in the snow and it’s a hilarious turn as we see how they cope with all being out of their usual comfort zones.

A slew of misunderstandings and challenging moments give way to emerging friendships that span across the different classes and romantic moments that give this film the Christmassy feel that has brought this story back onto our screens.

The Upcoming had the pleasure of speaking to Butterfield and Kirk about reprising their roles as a young couple in love, what challenges they face being all together at Christmas and what they as actors look forward to as they lean into the festive period in the run-up to Christmas.
