Ant-Man and the Wasp – Quantumania: On the red carpet with Evangeline Lily and Kathryn Newton

Based on the Marvel comic series, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is an action-packed superhero adventure written by Jeff Loveness and directed by Peyton Reed. Paul Rudd reprises his role as Scott Lang (Ant-Man), and Evangeline Lilly reappears as Hope Van Dyne (Wasp). Together with their family, they face imminent danger after they accidentally activate a portal and are sucked into the Quantum Realm and forced to join the fight against the villainous leader Kang the Conquerer (Jonathan Majors) and his powerful army.

The series is soon filled with family secrets that rise to the surface, alongside huge swathes of chaos and futuristic battles. But, remaining at its core is a story of family and the dynamics of what that means in such an uncertain world, with this particular chapter bringing in some fascinating new cast additions that help round out that arc.

The Upcoming had the pleasure of speaking to Lily on the red carpet at the UK premiere as she expressed her delight with newcomers Michelle Pfeiffer and Michael Douglas coming on board as her onscreen parents and becoming more central to the story in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Kathryn Newton spoke to us about her role as Cassie in this new chapter and bringing a comic book character to life. She also expressed how this role was her dream come true and about her love of the superhero genre as a whole.

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is released nationwide on 17th February 2023.
