Liam Gallagher and John Squire team up for debut album and announce UK and international tour

Two of Manchester’s most illustrious music scene veterans, Liam Gallagher and John Squire, have joined forces in a dynamic collaboration, with their self-titled debut album scheduled for release on 1st March 2024. The album is already creating a buzz with its second single, Mars to Liverpool, and fans can pre-order it now. Accompanying the album’s launch, the duo has announced their inaugural UK tour, with additional dates in Ireland, France, Germany, Italy and the USA.

The union of Oasis’s charismatic frontman Gallagher and The Stone Roses’ lead guitarist Squire marries Gallagher’s distinctive vocals with Squire’s exceptional guitar skills – a partnership that has already proven successful. Their first single, Just Another Rainbow, reached #16 on the UK singles chart and #1 on the sales, downloads, vinyl and physical singles charts, marking Gallagher’s highest singles chart entry in 15 years.

The upcoming album, which includes the tracks Mars to Liverpool and Just Another Rainbow, showcases a blend of rock ‘n’ roll and 60s psychedelia, with Gallagher’s melodic vocals complemented by Squire’s intricate guitar riffs. The collaboration, which began after Squire joined Gallagher onstage at his Knebworth shows, was developed in Los Angeles with producer Greg Kurstin, featuring bass from Kurstin and drums by Joey Waronker.

The tour will feature Gallagher and Squire backed by Barrie Cadogan on bass and Waronker on drums, with Jake Bugg appearing as a special guest. The tour kicks off in Glasgow on 13th March and ends in Brooklyn on 11th April 2024. Check out the full list of tour dates below.
