Sir Rod Stewart and Jools Holland have teamed up to release a new song, Pennies From Heaven, just in time for Valentine’s Day. The track features on their collaborative studio album Swing Fever, which is set to be released on 23rd February 2024. Accompanying the single is an official music video directed by Jeremy Deller and Jack Cocker, starring Penny Lancaster and showcasing some lively swing dance performances.

Pennies From Heaven is a reimagined version of the classic American tune originally penned by Arthur Johnston and Johnny Burke. Holland describes the song as versatile and uplifting, with Stewart adding that the album, free of slow songs, is filled with joy meant to encourage dancing and laughter.

The partnership has resulted in an album that pays homage to a selection of great songs, including Almost Like Being In LoveAin’t Misbehavin’Frankie And JohnnySentimental Journey and Lullaby Of Broadway. The album Swing Fever is set to feature the musical prowess of Holland’s Rhythm & Blues Orchestra and Stewart’s iconic voice, which has sold over 250 million albums worldwide.

Stewart, knighted in 2016 for his contributions to music and charity, is a two-time inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and a Grammy Living Legend. Holland, after leaving Squeeze in the 1980s, has led his orchestra to success, hosting BBC’s Later with Jools Holland and the annual Hootenanny.

Swing Fever will be available in various formats, including black and coloured vinyl, CD, and digital, with pre-orders already open. The release, poised to infuse a sense of joy and celebration into listeners, is eagerly anticipated by fans of both artists.
